Job Description:
Description The per diem Activities Assistant supports the Adult
Day Center by helping plan and lead engaging programs that promote
social, cognitive, and physical well-being for participants. This
role assists with activity set-up, participation, and clean-up
while ensuring a safe, supportive, hands-on peri care, and
welcoming environment. Principal Accountabilities: Work with ADC
team to ensure safety of clients, at all times. Interact with
clients in a professional and positive manner. Treat clients with
respect, kindness, patience; helping to maintain clients' dignity.
Assist clients who are unsteady with walking. Able lift 5 to 10
pounds. Provide hands-on assistance for clients, including personal
care as needed. Participate in leading activities/program at
request of Lead Activities Assistant. Participate in organization
and coordination of activities/projects at request of Lead
Activities Assistant. Assist during lunchtime to ensure calm,
orderly flow of dining experience for clients. Promote ADC in the
community whenever possible. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required: CNA or HHA Certification High School
Diploma or equivalent. Preferred: 1. 1 year of food service
experience in a health care facility. 2. Experience in assisted
living, skilled nursing, or Adult Day Care experience or relevant
area.
