Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Contract Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year of recent experience working as a licensed RRT. 1 year of ICU experience required. License: Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license. Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist. Certifications: BLS - AHA, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Active New Jersey license (no temporary). Previous experience with ventilators required. Willingness to float to adult ICU areas, intermediate care, and basic intermediate care floor. Description: The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment. This position supports the Director of Respiratory Services and Shift Supervisors. Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy under medical direction for patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies. Intubation assistance, as well as ventilator setup and management, are essential duties of this role. Gathering all necessary information to evaluate the patient's needs is required. This includes disease education and consultations with healthcare professionals. The role also involves developing rapport with patients and caregivers to foster an optimal care environment. Education is provided to patients and caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner. Other duties and projects may be assigned as necessary. The therapist adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Physical requirements include lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 1 hour per day. Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors is expected. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. A strong sense of accountability for improving patient lives is essential. Exceptional teamwork and patient-focused care are critical components of this position.
