Job Description Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Electrical
Engineer designs, develops, tests, and supervises the manufacturing
of electrical equipment. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Designs electrical
systems by developing and testing components. Evaluates electrical
systems, products, components and applications by designing and
conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity
and materials. Confirms systems and components’ capabilities by
designing testing methods. Develops electrical products by studying
customer requirements and researching and testing manufacturing and
assembly methods and materials. Develops manufacturing processes by
designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling
electrical components and by soliciting observations from
operators. Assures product quality by designing electrical testing
methods and testing finished products and systems capabilities.
Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing
information and trends. Provides engineering information by
answering questions and requests. Maintains product and company
reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Maintains product database by writing computer programs and
entering data. Collaborates with Project Engineers for proper
allocation and tracking resources. Creates designs in accordance
with company regulations and client standards and values. Provides
support during the process to ensure design specifications are met.
Analyzes problems that may arise during the manufacturing process
and recommends solutions. Follows all safety rules and quality
standards including all company policies and procedures. Performs
job assignments in a safe and productive manner while maintaining
high quality levels. Other duties as assigned. SKILLS &
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a
related field, MSc a plus. Minimum 3 years’ experience in
electrical engineering. Proficient in Microsoft Office and
associated applications including AutoCAD Strong problem-solving
skills and an excellent understanding of mathematics. Understanding
of electrical engineering codes and safety standards. Ability to
write clear and comprehensive technical documentation. High level
of professionalism accompanied with excellent interpersonal and
customer service skills. Must have excellent time management
skills, being able to prioritize multiple priorities at one time.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as a team member. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to remain in a
stationary position 75% of the time. Must be able to operate a
computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy
machine and printer. Must be able to lift and transport 50 lbs.
