Job Description:

We are partnering with an esteemed township to find a dedicated Staff Engineer - Civil Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and designing public improvement projects and facilities, including roads, roadways, storm sewer lines, and traffic lights. Your expertise will provide technical information to contractors and the public, and you will actively participate in pre-bid and pre-construction meetings. Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and design public improvement projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Provide technical information and support to contractors and the public regarding engineering projects.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings to contribute valuable insights and expertise.
• Develop designs and specifications for capital construction projects, detailing required capacity, location, materials, and construction methods.
• Utilize pavement management software to conduct inspections and prioritize the 20-year paving schedule for township roads.
• Review construction permit applications to ensure compliance with township ordinances, NIDEP, and other relevant regulations.
• Familiarity with GIS is preferred, or the willingness to learn with on-the-job training.
• Possess or be working towards an Engineering in Training Certificate (EIT); preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience with Military roads and roadways or similar engineering projects will be considered advantageous.
• Must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future. Qualifications:
  • 2-4 years of experience in civil engineering work, including capital construction projects such as roads, roadways, sports fields and courts, storm and sanitary projects. Internship experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools for design and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with contractors, public officials, and other stakeholders.
