H&K Group, Inc., a renowned leader in the construction materials and services industry since 1968, seeks a skilled Bridge Carpenter to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on the construction and repair of bridge frameworks and structures within the Mid-Atlantic region. As a Bridge Carpenter at H&K Group, you will leverage your expertise in carpentry to help us continue providing top-level contracting and construction services, ensuring durability and safety in all projects. Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials on bridge construction projects. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements. Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding and hardware. Maintain, repair and renovate bridges and other wooden structures. Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment. Proficient in using hand tools and power tools Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings Familiarity with bridge construction materials and safety standards Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination Medical Insurance 401k Valid carpentry or construction trade certification. Any other certifications related to safety, machinery operation, or woodworking are advantageous.
